英会話の先生から「何か童話を選んで英語でざっくりしたストーリーを教えて」という課題が出されました。英訳の練習にもなりますし、それを声に出すことで発声練習にもなるのでオススメとのことでした。
ということで、せっかくですので自分の翻訳した文をご紹介します。誤訳などがありましたら問い合わせからご連絡いただけると嬉しいです。
登場人物
- 白雪姫：Snow White
- 王子様：Prince
- 女王（継母）：Queen（step mother）
- 小人：Dwarf
あらすじ（英訳）
One day a pretty girl was born white like snow.
Her name is Snow White.
Her mother died of a disease and her father remarried.
Her step mother was beautiful but mean.
Snow White went out to the forest to play and make friends.
She lived some animals and dwarfs in the forest. She was very happy.
The Queen was in the castle.
She asked a mirror of the magic “Is a mirror a mirror. Who is it in the world to be the most beautiful?”.
The mirror said “Snow White. She lived in the forest with dwarfs”.
When The Queen heard, she decided to kill Snow White with the poisoned apple.
She put the poisoned apple which got out to the forest and gave the apple to Snow White.
Snow White asleep after eating the apple.
When the dwarfs saw her, they were surprised.
They were crying for help someone.
Then the prince of neighboring country happened to pass.
When the prince did a kiss to Snow White, Snow White opened eyes slowly.
The dwarfs were very pleased.
After that Snow White and prince got married and they lived happily ever after.
あらすじ（日本語）
ある日、雪のように白く可愛い女の子が生まれました。
彼女の名前は “白雪姫” です。
彼女の母親は病気でなくなってしまい、その後、彼の父親は再婚をしました。
彼女の新しい継母は美しい人ですが、意地悪な人でした。
彼女は友達を作り一緒に遊ぶため森へ行きました。
彼女は動物や小人たちと森で暮らし、とても幸せでした。
女王（継母）は城にいました。
彼女は魔法の鏡に向かってこう尋ねます。
「鏡よ鏡。この世で1番美しいのは誰だい？」
鏡は答えます。
「白雪姫です。彼女は森で小人たちと暮らしています」
それを聞いた女王（継母）は毒りんごを使って白雪姫を殺すことを決意しました。
彼女は毒りんごを森へ持っていき、白雪姫に渡しました。
白雪姫は毒りんごを食べると眠ってしまいました。
小人たちが彼女を見たとき、彼らは驚きました。
そして誰かに助けを求めました。
すると隣国の王子様が彼らの前に現れました。
王子が白雪姫にキスをすると、白雪姫はゆっくりと目を覚ましました。
小人たちも大いに喜びました。
それから、白雪姫と王子は結婚をし、幸せに暮らしましたとさ…
