童話を英訳してみたシリーズ5弾。今回は「大きなカブ」です。

- おじいさん：old man
- おばあさん：old woman
- 猫：cat
- ねずみ：mouse
- カブ：turnip
あらすじ（英訳）
The old man had turnip seeds.
One day he planted the turnip seeds.
He watered the seeds too.
There was a turnip grown in the field.
It gets big.
And it gets bigger and bigger.
“Wow! It’s very big! Let’s pull it out!”
The old man pulled the turnip but it didn’t come out.
“Help me! Come and help me!” He says to his wife.
Then an old woman came to him.
The old man and the old woman pulled the turnip but it didn’t come out.
“Help us!” They say to the cat.
Then the cat came to them.
The old man, the old woman and the cat pulled the turnip but it didn’t come out.
“Help us!” The cat says to the mouse.
Then the mouse came to them.
The old man, the old woman, the cat and the mouse pulled the turnip but it didn’t come out.
All of them pulled together with all their strength.
Then…
“Pop!”
At last the turnip came out.
It was such a giant turnip.
At dinner they ate the turnip.
あらすじ（日本語）
あるおじいさんがカブの種を持っていました。
ある日、おじいさんはその種を植えました。
さらにその種に水をあげました。
そのカブは大きく育っていきました。
そしてそのカブはどんどんどんどん大きくなっていきました。
「わぁ！とても大きくなった！これは収穫しよう！」
おじいさんは収穫をしようと思いましたが、そのカブは抜けませんでした。
「助けてくれ！僕のところに来て手伝ってほしいんだ！」彼は妻にそう言いました。
それからおばあさんは彼のところにやってきました。
おじいさんとおばあさんがカブを収穫しようとしましたが、カブは抜けませんでした。
「助けてくれ！」彼は猫に助けを求めました。
それから、その猫がやってきました。
おじいさん、おばあさん、猫がカブを収穫しようとしましたが、カブは抜けませんでした。
「助けてくれよ～」猫はねずみに助けを求めました。
すると、ねずみが彼らのもとにやってきました。
おじいさん、おばあさん、猫、ねずみがカブを収穫しようとしました。
そしてみんなで力いっぱいカブを引っ張りました。
すると…
「すっぽーーーん！！」
とうとうカブは抜けました。
それはそれはとても大きなカブでした。
彼らは夜ご飯にそのカブを食べました。
